Internet Safety

A lot of problems can arise from Internet use, especially in the classroom setting. Although students may not intentionally visit some sites, often inappropriate sites will pop-up. Sources such as Google or other search engines often bring up these sites if you do not enter your search accurately. For younger students, they most likely are not aware of all of the harmful things on the Internet. Still, teachers should take the responsibility of teaching their students Internet safety. At the beginning of the year, students should be given a short lesson on Internet safety and be given ways to steer clear of unsafe sites or pop-ups. Students should be expected to be responsible for themselves and for one another.
